All the Sizes

Bodies, gotta love em.

I have people in my life, as I’m sure you do, who come in all different sized bodies. Tall, short, ‘average,’ the whole gamut. In the beginning of my jewelry-making journey I was struck by the fact that everyone who is not ‘average’ has trouble buying stuff that fits! I knew that about clothes, obviously, but never thought about jewelry.

Smaller than ‘average?’ Small fingers, tiny wrists, yup, jewelry can be challenging. Larger than ‘average?’ Wrists larger than the average 7 inches for women or fingers who aren’t the average size 6.5-7? Mhm, I’m right there with ya.

My daughter happens to be one of the former bodies. Small. Small wrists, small fingers, small everything. I knew what size clothing she wore but I never paid that much attention to her jewelry. Until I started making it. Now, when I make a new piece of jewelry, I bring it to her to test out for the day. She is kind enough to wear it and notice things about it. Is it comfortable to wear?  Does it stay on? How can mom make this better?  Etc. Well when I first started, the ‘average’ sizes I was making were too big for her. So, I had to go smaller if I wanted her to be my tester. And I had to go larger for me, because I just like to wear my pieces 😊. And then it clicked.

We love jewelry.

It often doesn’t fit.

I make jewelry.

I can make it any size I want!

And Ansera Design inclusive sizing was born.

Look, life is challenging enough. We don’t need to stress or give up on things we love, especially when it’s an easy fix. So, let’s be thankful for the bodies we have, for the things they CAN do, and find joy where we’re able. For me, that joy can come from looking down and seeing something pretty on my wrist or finger. If that brings you joy too, welcome to my shop! Have a look around. If you wish you saw something that’s not there, let me know. Hopefully, I can make it happen!

To joy, my friends, wherever you find it.

Lori
